Abstract:

To improve reduction efficiency of NOx in exhaust gas in a high-temperature zone of the exhaust gas.

A selective reduction type catalyst 19 capable of reducing NOx in exhaust gas into N2 is disposed in an exhaust pipe 16; and a particulate filter 22 having a ceria-containing oxidation catalyst layer formed therein is disposed on the exhaust pipe 16 at the upstream side of an exhaust gas flow from the selective reduction type catalyst 19. A liquid spray nozzle 26 capable of spraying a hydrocarbon liquid 24 toward the particulate filter 22 is disposed on the exhaust pipe 16 at the upstream side of the exhaust gas flow from the particulate filter 22, and the hydrocarbon liquid 24 is supplied by a liquid supply means 28 to the liquid spray nozzle 26. A controller 43 is configured to control the liquid supply means 28 based on the detection output of a temperature sensor 38 that detects an exhaust gas temperature relating to the particulate filter 22.
