Abstract:
To prevent deterioration of combustibility, when an intake throttle valve provided on an intake passage so as to increase EGR gas quantity is closed and operated and the intake passage is restricted to large value.
A feedback control is performed for opening of an EGR valve 24 so that actual air quantity detected by an air flow meter 14 is a target air quantity. When a large quantity of EGR is performed, an intake passage 12 is restricted by an intake throttle valve 18 disposed on the intake passage 12 at a just upstream of an EGR gas inlet port 23b. When opening of the intake throttle valve 18 is made small, a swirl valve 20 is operated and closed, and swirl of intake within a combustion chamber is strengthened.
