Abstract:
To provide an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst having high exhaust gas cleaning performance and also having effective cleaning characteristics even in a low temperature range, e.g. immediately after starting an engine.
The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst comprises a heat resistant catalyst carrier substrate and a catalyst coat layer formed on the surface of the catalyst carrier substrate and comprising a β-zeolite, cerium-zirconium- yttrium multiple oxide, a catalyst metal and a fire resistant inorganic oxide. The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is excellent in exhaust gas cleaning capacity and is very effective to particularly remove HC because of the presence of the β-zeolite.
