Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the HC dissociation start temperature of an adsorbent while obtaining sufficient durability against high temperature exhaust gas, in an exhaust gas cleaning device for an internal combustion engine constituted so that a hydrocarbon being a uncombusted component in exhaust gas is adsorbed by the adsorbent in such a state that a catalyst is inactive at the time of starting of the internal combustion engine and the HC dissociated from the adsorbent is cleaned by the catalyst after the catalyst is activated.
SOLUTION: Zeolite having Cs supported thereon is added to the adsorbent.
