Abstract:
To provide an exhaust gas desulfurization method capable of simply, suitably carrying out the desulfurization of a combustion exhaust gas at the start-up or shut-down of a combustion apparatus, and capable of reducing COD of the drainage discharged from a desulfurization facility.SOLUTION: There is provided an exhaust gas desulfurization method using a desulfurization apparatus having an absorber 1 which desulfurizes a combustion exhaust gas 11 generating from a combustion apparatus and including sulfur oxide by contacting an absorbent 12 including magnesium hydrate, and an oxidation tank 21 storing an absorbent 24 extracted from the absorber 1. The absorber 1 has a storage part 6 for the absorbent 12 at a bottom part and an absorbent feeding part 4 at an upper part, and is equipped with a return path 7 for returning the absorbent 12 in the storage part 6 to the absorbent feeding part 4. Oxidant feeding means is provided to each of the storage part 6 and the oxidation tank 21, and the amount of an oxidant to be fed to the oxidation tank 21 is made to be larger than that to the storage part 6 at the start-up or shut-down of the combustion apparatus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
