Abstract:
To appropriately adjust the level of acceleration of an exhaust gas stream in accordance with the operating environment, exhaust level, etc. of an internal combustion engine. The present invention is characterized in comprising: a device body 20 having an overall tubular structure, one end of which serves as the exhaust gas inlet side for receiving an exhaust gas stream discharged from an end of an exhaust system, and the other end of which serves as the exhaust gas outlet side for discharging the exhaust gas into the atmosphere; an exhaust gas stream acceleration tube 21 comprising a tubular accelerating part provided in order to accelerate mainly the central stream of an exhaust gas stream flowing into the exhaust gas inlet side, and an opening provided in order to channel, to the exterior of the accelerating part, mainly the portion of the exhaust gas stream other than the central stream; a tail pipe 28 provided on the exhaust gas outlet side in order to discharge into the atmosphere an exhaust gas stream accelerated by the exhaust gas stream acceleration tube; and an adjustment mechanism 30 that is capable of moving the tail pipe forward or backward with respect to the device body, thereby allowing the interval between the exhaust gas stream acceleration tube and the tail pipe to be adjusted.
