Abstract:
PURPOSE:To control exhaust sound emitted from the inside and the outside of the expansions, by furnishing sound absorption layers only at the inner peripheries of the outside of the expansions, as well as furnishing recessed portions to avoid the interferences with parts of the motorcycle at the inside of the expansions of the exhaust pipes. CONSTITUTION:At the expansions 21c of the left hand exhaust pipe 21, is formed a recessed portion 35 to avoid the interference with the chain. And at the front side of the recessed portion 35, the recessed portion is extended to avoid the interference with the head of a pivot bolt 15. On the other hand, at the inside of the expansion 22c of the right hand exhaust pipe 22, is furnished a recessed portion 56 to avoid the interference with the tip of the pivot bolt 15 and the nut 16 to screw to the tip of the bolt 15. Furthermore, inside both expansions 21b and 22b, are furnished recessed portions 37 and 38 to avoid the interference with a pivot bolt 13 and a nut 14 respectively. And at the rear side of the expansions 21b and 22b of the exhaust pipes 21 and 22, and at the inner peripheries of the outsides of the expansions 21c and 22c, sound absorption layers are furnished respectively.
