Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas processing device capable of suppressing leakage of electric current to parts other than a honeycomb structure when the honeycomb structure is electrically energized.SOLUTION: An exhaust gas processing device comprises: a columnar honeycomb structure having honeycomb units in which a plurality of cells extending from a first end surface to a second end surface along a longitudinal direction are defined by cell walls supporting a catalyst therein; an inorganic mat material wound around an outer peripheral surface of the honeycomb structure; and a cylindrical metallic member storing the honeycomb structure having the inorganic mat material wound around it. The honeycomb units have conductivity and a part abutted against the inorganic mat material at an inner surface of the cylindrical metallic member is formed with a dense insulation layer having a thickness of 20 μm to 400 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
