Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst carrier and an exhaust gas purification catalyst, excellent in heat resistance and purification performance with a reduced amount of rare earth elements for use, and a manufacturing method of the exhaust gas purification catalyst carrier and the exhaust gas purification catalyst.SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purification catalyst carrier satisfies the following conditions: including an oxide 1 of perovskite type oxide and an oxide 2 having low reactivity with the perovskite type oxide which are mixed; the surfaces of a plurality of particles of the oxide 1 being sintered with each other into a secondary particle made of porous body with a porosity of 20 to 60% and an average particle diameter of 5 μm or more; the oxide 1 having an average particle diameter of 0.05 to 0.5 μm; the oxide 2 having an average particle diameter of 0.1 μm or less, mainly existing at the boundary between the oxide 1 and pores; and the oxide 2 being at least one selected from YO, LaO, CeO, and NiO, essentially including YO, with a total amount of Y, La, Ce, and Ni of 5 to 30 mol% relative to the total number of moles of Sr and A of the oxide 1.
