Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control catalyst heating apparatus having a current heater arranged on the upstream side of a catalyst unit along the flow direction of exhaust gases in a housing made of an electrical conduction metal accommodating a catalyst unit, wherein a terminal connected with the current heater is protected in a high space efficiency even under a condition in which the arrangement space of the exhaust system is restricted.SOLUTION: A negative electrode 43 of an electric current heater 40 is directly connected with a housing 37 connected electrically with an external earth cable, and a rod-shaped terminal 47 leading to the positive electrode 46 of the electric heater 40 is electrically connected in an electrical insulated state through the housing 37 with an external electric power line 48 outside of the housing 37, and the projection of the terminal 47 from the housing 37 is covered with a terminal cover 49.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
