Abstract:
To provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst with a suppressed decrease in catalytic activity by preventing the sintering of noble metal particles and a method for using the exhaust gas purification catalyst with an improved durability by preventing the sintering of noble metal particles.
The exhaust gas purification catalyst comprises a carrier 2 having an isoelectric point of a zeta potential of the surface at pH 8 or lower and made of an oxide containing aluminum oxide as a main component and noble metal particles (Pt particles 3) of at least one element selected from Pt, Pd, and Rh and deposited on the carrier 2.
