Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst having an improved oxygen storage/release capacity per unit volume of an OSC material itself.SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purification catalyst 10 includes a small quantity Rh-carrying OSC material which carries a small quantity of rhodium (Rh) catalyst on at least a part of catalyst layer. The small quantity Rh-carrying OSC material has an Rh content (g/L-cat) of 0.02 g/L-cat or less. In the catalyst layer 6 of laminate structure type, preferably the small quantity Rh-carrying OSC material is included in a lower layer 6B, not in an upper layer 6A.
