To provide a long life exhaust as purifying apparatus in which the reaction of sulfur oxides with a nitrogen oxides removing catalyst is avoided and the nitrogen oxides removing catalyst is prevented from being flaked off from a carrier and hardly suffers the poisoning by the sulfur oxides.
The exhaust gas purifying apparatus is constituted so as to carry the nitrogen oxides removing catalyst 20 composed of brown milarite type multiple oxide particles 21 and noble metal catalyst particles 22 on a catalyst support 10 and to provide a selective gas permeation membrane 30 having molecular level sized fine pores 31, through which nitrogen oxides are passed through but gas poisoning the nitrogen oxides removing catalyst 20 is not passed through, on the nitrogen oxides removing catalyst 20.
