To provide a manufacturing method of an exhaust gas purifying body, capable of efficiently producing the exhaust gas purifying body provided with an exhaust gas purifying catalyst carrier while having excellent dispersibility of catalyst components in the catalyst carrier, superior exhaust gas purifying ability and durability.
This manufacturing method of the exhaust gas purifying body has a first printing process to screen-print ceramic paste 2 serving as a porous ceramic layer on a metallic ventilating plate 1 excluding its folded part 3, a first baking process to form the porous ceramic layer 5 by baking the ceramic paste 2, a second printing process to screen-print catalyst paste containing catalyst components on the surface of the porous ceramic layer 5, a second baking process to form a catalyst layer by baking the catalyst paste, and a folding process to form the exhaust gas purifying body 6 having a laminated structure in which the exhaust gas purifying carriers 4 are laminated by folding the metallic ventilating plate 1 two or more times at the folded part 3.
