Abstract:
PURPOSE:To regenerate a filter effectively by controlling a valve bypassing the filter depending on engine revolutions, and controlling a heating value supply device for the filter depending on the temperature of the filter at its upstream side. CONSTITUTION:The exhaust gas pipe 2 of a diesel engine main body 1 is provided with a filter 3 to arrest fine particles in exhaust gas, and the filter 3 is provided with a heating value supply device 7 to oxidize arrested fine particles as well. And a valve 8 is provided, which switches the passage in such a way as to allow no flow of exhaust gas to the filter 3 but to allow its flow to a bypass 9 at the time of oxidizing fine particles. Furthermore, a temperature detecting section 4 and a back pressure detecting section 5 are provided respectively for the upstream side of the filter 3. In addition, a control device 6 is provided, which controls each of the heating value supply device 7 and the valve 8 based on each detected signal from each of the detectors 4 and 5. This constitution controls the feeding amount of exhaust gas to the filter 3 properly depending on engine revolutions.
