CONSTITUTION: In an exhaust gas purifying device, a honeycomb body 1 having a heater function and a main catalyst carried host 2 are arranged in a metal case, fixed on the windward side and on the leeward side of the downstream flow of exhaust gas respectively. At this time, flat plate belt-like materials 11 and a corrugated plate belt-like material 12 having an electric insulation layer on the surface at least one of them are piled up so that they may be abutted on each other and the piled belt-like materials are collectively laminated in the form of a spiral several times. And the honeycomb body 1 having a heater function is provided with leads 4, 5 for energization which are connected to a power source.
