PURPOSE: To prevent leanness of air-fuel ratio which is caused by temporarily refluxing only air from an exhaust system to an intake system at the time of transfer by acceleration from a deceleration fuel cut region to an exhaust gas reflux control region, in the case of an engine in which fuel cut control in the deceleration region and exhaust gas reflux control in the predetermined region are performed.

CONSTITUTION: In the case of an engine 1 having a fuel cut means for cutting supply of fuel in a predetermined deceleration region, EGR passage 40 for connecting an exhaust system 30 to an intake system 10 and an EGR valve 41 for controlling recirculation of exhaust gas by this passage 40, a controller 50, by which the EGR valve is actuated so as to close the above-mentioned EGR passage 40 during the predetermined time at the time of acceleration from the above-mentioned deceleration fuel cut region, is provided.
