To provide an exhaust gas recirculation system introducing exhaust gas into respective intake passages respectively connected to respective cylinders of an internal combustion engine and inhibiting reduction of output characteristics of the engine while equally introducing exhaust gas into the respective cylinders.

The engine exhaust gas recirculation system introduces exhaust gas into the respective intake passages 11-14 respectively connected to the respective #1-#4 cylinders of the engine. An EGR passage 9 for introducing exhaust gas into the respective intake passages 11-14 has a branch part 9h at which it branches into passages 9f, 9g which are passage groups independent from each other, and the passage 9f which is the passage group for introducing exhaust gas into the intake passage 11 closest to the branch part 9h further branches into a plurality of passages at a position more downstream than the branch part 9h.
