Abstract:

To provide an exhaust-gas sealing structure for a turbocharger for positively reducing a high-temperature and high-pressure exhaust-gas leaking from a gap between a bearing hole of a turbine housing and a shaft.

The exhaust-gas sealing structure for a turbocharger 1 includes a control valve 41, a shaft 42, and a seal plate 43. The control valve 41 controls an exhaust-gas flow in the turbine housing 11. The shaft 42 having the control valve 41 fixed at its one end is passed through the bearing hole 13a provided in the turbine housing 11 to the outside of the turbine housing 11. The seal plate 43 is for sealing the gap between the bearing hole 13a and the shaft 42. In the seal plate 43, a through-hole 43a is made for the shaft 42 to be inserted. The gap between the through-hole 43a and the shaft 42 is narrower than the gap between the bearing hole 13a and the shaft 42. One side 43b of the seal plate 43 provided in a cavity 15 having a seal face 15a in the peripheral direction of the shaft 42 is pressed to the seal face 15a.
