Abstract:
PURPOSE: To adjust the area of a cooling air intake port and to fully close the port in the case of emergency in an ANC muffler exhaust gas temperature controller also serving as an emergency shhutting off device.
CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas 13 flows in from an exhaust pipe (entrance) 4 and is exhausted from 5 (exit), cooling air 14 is led guided from an ejector part 15 formed around the bottom part of the exhaust pipe 4 (entrance), a speaker 2 in a speaker box 1 is cooled and protected. A sliding ring 10 is arranged in the exhaust pipe 4 (entrance) so as to adjust the passage entrance part area of the cooling air 14 by being moved up and down. A controller 7 inputs the signal of an exhaust gas temperature from a temperature sensor 6, controls the air amount of a compressed air supplying source 16, slides a wedge 10a on 12 by actuating an air cylinder 11, moves the sliding ring 10 up and down by rotating it, adjusts the entrance part area of the cooling air passage and thus an exhaust gas temperature is increased during excess cooling, making it possible to prevent low temperature corrosion.
