To provide an exhaust gas treatment apparatus and an exhaust gas treatment method which enable a stable supply of an agent using an agent supplying means with a suitable performance considering problems contained in a conventional technique.
The exhaust gas treatment method has a dust collecting means for treating a predetermined component in an exhaust gas. When a concentration value of a determined gas component of the exit side of a first dust collecting means 2 runs over a determined value, a predetermined amount of the agent is supplied to the upper stream side of the first dust collecting means 2 and an amount of the agent is controlled so that the concentration value of the determined gas component of the exit side of a second dust collecting means 3, which is arranged in series with the first dust collecting means 2, is in the determined range.
