Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact exhaust gas treatment device mountable on a vehicle capable of thermally efficiently regenerating a filter with avoiding drop of elimination rate and runaway combustion of PM at a time of filter regeneration by using cohesion function and dust collecting function by corona discharge and dust collecting function of the filter, and an exhaust emission control method.
SOLUTION: This device includes a charging cohesion part 10 charging collection object composition in exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine by corona discharge and cohering the same, a filter part 20 collecting the cohered composition, a bypass passage 40 bypassing the filter part 20 and a flow passage change over means 41 changing over at least most part of flow of exhaust gas to the filter part 20 or the bypass passage 40. At least most part of flow of exhaust gas is changed over to the bypass passage 40 when rotation speed of the internal combustion engine is predetermined rotation speed or less and load is predetermined load or less.
