Abstract:

To provide a treatment method for exhaust gas capable of safely and efficiently treating exhaust gas containing dioxin and highly ignitable dust with large temperature fluctuation.

In the method, exhaust gas discharged from a melting furnace 1 is guided to a temperature control tower 2 and cooled by water spray, atmospheric air is supplied to the exhaust gas from the temperature control tower to carry out cooling, the cooled exhaust gas is guided to a cyclone 3 to collect dust, at least an agent having a dioxin adsorbing function is supplied into the exhaust gas coming out from the cyclone, and it is guided to a bag filter 4 to collect dust containing dioxin. When cooling the exhaust gas by the temperature control tower, water spray is carried out by a large capacity spraying device 21 when an inlet side temperature is high in the temperature control tower for exhaust gas, and water spray is carried out by a small capacity spraying device 22 when an outlet side temperature is high in the temperature control tower for exhaust gas. An ignition inhibitor is supplied into the exhaust gas in a fore position of the cyclone.
