Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the boiling resistance of an EGR cooler by preventing local boiling of cooling water.
SOLUTION: The measurements δin1 of a clearance 12g extending in a direction generally parallel with an inflow direction of cooling water flowing in from a cooling water inflow port 12d is made to be equal to the measurements δt of a clearance 11a between exhaust tubes 11. Concretely, the measurements δin1 is made to be between 1 mm and 5 mm. Therefore, the flow velocity of the cooling water flowing in the clearance 12g can be prevented from decreasing below a specified flow velocity, so that the cooling water can be prevented from locally boiling in the clearance 12g.
