Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a reduction in output of an engine to be prevented and a size of the engine to be made small by restricting a size of the engine in a width direction thereof.SOLUTION: A plurality of cylinders 40 including cylinders, combustion chambers and exhaust ports 36 are formed at a cylinder block 30 and a cylinder head 31 in a vertical direction. A left exhaust passage 41 and a right exhaust passage connected to each exhaust port of the plurality of cylinders to guide exhaust gas outside an engine 11 have exhaust manifolds 43 and a catalyst storing chamber 44. The exhaust manifolds 43 are provided at both sides in a width direction at the cylinder block to gather exhaust gases discharged out of each of the exhaust ports at the plurality of cylinders. The catalyst storing chamber 44 connects the exhaust manifolds with outside of the engine. The exhaust manifolds 43 have an exhaust guiding part 46 for guiding exhaust gas discharged out of each of the exhaust ports to a connecting part 45 with the catalyst storing chamber 44, formed while oppositely facing a connecting surface 47 between the cylinder block and the cylinder head.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
