Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously reduce NOx exhausted amount and CO2 exhausted amount even under an accelerating operation condition without degrading fuel consumption. SOLUTION: A relation between total NOx exhausted amount and running distance allows a lean operation in the accelerating operation, an operation region at a lean air-fuel ratio in the accelerating operation is reduced when the relation between total NOx exhausted amount and running distance lies on a higher total exhausted amount side than a predetermined relation. The total NOx exhausted amount is efficiently suppressed and simultaneously opportunity of reduction and purification of NOx stored in a storage type NOx catalyst 25 is increased to efficiently recover the NOx storage capability, and both improvement of fuel consumption and management of the total NOx exhausted amount are efficiently, simultaneously achieved.
