Abstract:
To secure airtightness of a flange for jointing exhaust manifold to embolize exhaust recirculation path that is formed on an exhaust side of a cylinder head.
On the exhaust side 5 of the cylinder head 1, a recessed groove 15 extending to a direction a crank axial line is formed. One end of the recessed grooves is communicated with an exhaust port 8 and the other end is communicated with the exhaust recirculation path to an air inlet line, respectively. The recessed groove is embolized with a lid plate 16 that is integrally provided on the flange 10 for jointing exhaust manifold 8. On the lid plate 16, a cooling water passage 22 is integrally provided to extend along the recessed groove 15.
