Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake and exhaust device of a multi-cylinder engine capable of increasing an engine output with a simple structure.SOLUTION: The exhaust device includes: an independent exhaust passage 52 connected to an exhaust port 18 and split into a low-speed-side passage 54 and a high-speed-side passage 53; a low-speed-side manifold part 56a and a high-speed side manifold part 57 connected to the low-speed-side passage 54 and the high-speed-side passage 53; and a flow channel area variable valve 58 opening and closing the high-speed-side passage 53. The low-speed-side passage 54 and the low-speed-side manifold part 56a have a shape such that another low-speed-side passage 54 has a negative pressure by ejector effect as exhaust is discharged to the low-speed-side manifold part 56a. In a low-speed region, an overlap duration of one cylinder 12 and a valve-opening start timing of an exhaust valve 20 of the other cylinder 12 are overlapped with each other, and the flow channel area variable valve 58 is set at a closing side. In a high-speed region, the flow channel area variable valve 58 is fully opened. A crossing angle β of an axial center at a downstream end of each high-speed-side passage 53 is larger than a crossing angle α of an axial center at a downstream end of each low-speed-side passage 54.
