Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an exhaust system muffling device which can reduce the acoustic pressure of an exhaust gas, in a range extending from the low rotation to the high rotation of an engine.SOLUTION: The acoustic pressure of an exhaust gas F which flows in a merged path 38 can be reduced at the high rotation of an engine 12 by providing a path length difference between and among a main path 16 of a main pipe 18, a branch path 20 of a branch pipe 22 and a shunt path 40, and making an exhaust gas E and an exhaust gas B merged with each other. At the low rotation of the engine 12, in addition to the path length difference, the heat of an exhaust gas C is recovered by a heat exchanger 24, and the exhaust gas C is cooled. By this constitution, an acoustic pressure of the exhaust gas E which flows in the branch path 20 in the branch pipe 22 and the shunt path 40, and the acoustic pressure of the exhaust gas F which flows in the merged path 38 can be reduced by further displacing a phase of a pressure wave of the exhaust gas E.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
