Title:
EXHAUST TURBOSUPERCHARGED ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6220632
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To transmit exhaust gas energy effectively to a turbine as dynamic pressure, by forming an exhaust port into two parts, while connecting each port to each scroll chamber of the turbine via a separate exhaust passage, and closing one side exhaust passage at a low speed range.

CONSTITUTION: At a low speed range of engine revolution, operation of a high- speed exhaust valve 26S is stopped and closed by each actuation of a valve action stopping mechanism 44 and a lift adjusting mechanism 35. And, only the exhaust valve installed in a low-speed exhaust port 3P in each cylinder is opened or closed, operating a low speed exhaust passage 5P alone, while one side scroll chamber 11P connected to this exhaust passage 5P is used as a turbine. Therefore, in the case where each capacity of these low-speed and high-speed exhaust passages 5P and 5S is equal, at the low speed range, exhaust manifold capacity has come to one half in substance, so that expansion of the exhaust gas is checked and the desired end is attainable.
