Title:
EXHAUSTER FOR SMALL MARINE ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02275010
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the extent of engine performance and quietness by receiving water pressure being produced at time of propelling a marine vessel with a pressure receiving part, thereby driving a cover via a transmission means, and opening or closing a subexhaust port which exhausts gaseous emission in space between each water surface at time of stoppage and navigation. CONSTITUTION:At time of stoppage, since water pressure 23 is not added to a pressure receiving part 19, a cover 17 is kept free of being opened or closed. Exhaust gas, passing through a sub-exhaust passage 31, pushes the cover 17 open and discharged out of a sub-exhaust port 13 in the water more downward than a water surface 15 at the stoppage. At this time, since the cover 17 is sufficiently opened large enough, startability or the like of an engine is improvable. On the other hand, when a ship goes ahead at high speed, the hull 24 is floated and the ship's bottom 32 goes up to a water surface 18. If so, the pressure receiving part 19 is rotated by the water pressure, the cover 17 is rotated via linkages 20-22 so that the sub-exhaust port 13 is closed. Consequently, the exhaust gas is exhausted into the water from a main exhaust port in the yet lower part. Therefore an exhaust noise is also exhausted into the water, thus quietness is securable.
