Title:
EXISTING BUILDING REINFORCING STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3513731
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the bearing force and tenacity of the concrete wall of an existing building by fitting steel plates each of which is provided with one or more vertically extended slits, to both faces of the concrete wall of the building.
SOLUTION: Slits 13 are vertically formed every specified space in the vicinity of the center part of a steel plate 5. Slits 17 extended vertically so as to pierce both sides of an earthquake resistant wall are formed at the middle part 4A of the earthquake resistant wall 4. The respective slits 17 are so arranged as to correspond to the slits 13 of the steel plate 5. The earthquake resistant wall 4 is held between the steel plates 5, and the steel plates 5 are fixed to a column 2 and beams 3 by angle members 6. Reinforcing plates 15 are then fitted to the upper, middle, lower end parts of the steel plates 5. The spacing and length of the slits 13 are appropriately set so as to be able to set balance between the earthquake resistant wall 4 reinforced by the steel plate and a frame formed of the column 2 and beams 3 most suitably. The earthquake resistance of an existing building 1 is thereby improved effectively.
