To effectively expose radiation to a constriction area of an artery by fixing an expandable structure that can be delivered to lesion to a length flexible member which can be inserted through the artery through advancement of the member in the artery and by arranging a radiation source in this structure.
A braided body apparatus 5 constituted by expandable braided body 26 is provided at the distal end of a wire 6 having a peripheral distal portion and a base portion to be inserted through a balloon catheter, and this braided body apparatus 5 is expanded by operating a control mechanism provided at the base portion of the wire 6 (knob, for example). By a radiation device 24 provided inside the braided body 26 in the expanded state, radiation therapy is given to a constriction area 13 on a human vascular. A balloon to be used for vasodilation is arranged at the peripheral distal portion of the catheter, and a pressure control mechanism for controlling expansion and contraction of this balloon is provided at the base portion of the catheter.
