PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer composition having excellent preliminary expansion ratio and excellent stability of cell structure thereof.SOLUTION: A polymer composition contains i. a polymer base containing a) a vinyl aromatic polymer of 0 mass% to 100 mass% measured based on the whole base (i) and a vinyl aromatic monomer of 50 mass% to 99 mass% and a copolymer containing at least one kind of alkyl ester having 1 to 18 carbon atoms of 1% to 50%, which is a derivative of acryl or methacrylic acid of 100 mass% to 0 mass% of the whole base (i), ii. an expansion agent of 0.2 to 10 pts.mass measured based on 100 pts of the polymer base (i) and iii. one of A an additive having a plasticization effect of 0 to 10 pts.mass measured based on 100 pts of the polymer base (i) when (i) contains at least 2 mass% of (b) or B the additive having the plasticization effect of 0.3 to 10 pts.mass measured based on 100 pts. of the polymer base (i) when (i) contains only (a). Molecular mass at a maximum peak of (i) Mp is in a range of 130 kDa to 190 kDa, centrifugal average molecular mass of (i) Mz is in the range of 439 kDa to 900 kDa, difference of molecular weight distribution (MWD) of (i) and glass transition temperature (DTg) measured between the vinyl aromatic polymer having a composition with only a vinyl aromatic fraction of (i) and a polymer composition consisting of (i) and (iii) is in the range of 1°C to 8°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None
