PURPOSE: To prevent falling off of a thickened active material to improve plate strength, and to improve battery performance by having a protrusion protruded in the direction of the thickness of an expanded lattice body, to a joint part between stitches of the lattice body which is expanded in the stitch.
CONSTITUTION: A cutting edge, in which a protrusion and a dent are alternately provided on a part for pressurizing a joint part 5 of a stitch of an expanded lattice body 1, is used vertically, to provide slits in a lattice base material made of lead or of lead compound, while a receded part and a protruded material 9 are provided on a point corresponding to the joint part 5. The base material is expanded into stitches, and the protruded material 9 is protruded in the direction of the thickness of the lattice body, and the lattice body 1 is thus provided. An active material 10 consisting of lead powder, sulfuric acid and water, is filled in the lattice body 1, and a plate 11 for lead-acid battery is provided. The active material 10 can thus be maintained up to the surface layer by means of the protruded material 9. Even when the plate 11 is thickened, falling off of the active material 10 can be prevented.
