Title:
EXPANSIBLE FLEXIBLE JOINT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2632284
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an expansible flexible joint capable of setting a strong locking force to any design value and setting previously spots in which connected pipes are separated from each other in the action of the external force larger than the design value in an earthquake or the like.
CONSTITUTION: In an existing expansible flexible joint, lock rings 20, 21 having rows 25, 26 of biting teeth on the inner surface axially outside fastening rings 12, 13 are fixedly bitten in the outer peripheral surfaces of welded pipes 1, 2, and stopper rings 31, 32 for placing stopper parts 35 having a inner peripheral tapered surface surface 38 having the diameter smaller than the maximum diameter of the lock rings 20, 21 axially outside the lock rings 20, 21 are bolted on the fastening rings. Thus, the stopper part increases the locking force of the lock ring through the action of the external force for expanding the lock ring axially and the locking force can be set to any value by the design values of the respective stopper ring parts, bolts and lock rings.
