Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion joint between buildings which can sufficiently deal with large displacement or complicated displacement between buildings at earthquake and is provided with a position holding mechanism after earthquake.
SOLUTION: This expansion joint between buildings is constituted so that the one end part of the movable part 9 of a gangway footplate 5 is connected slidably sideways to the front end of a fixed part 8 fixed on the end part of the passage 3 of a building 1, the other end part is slidably placed on the passage 4 of a building 2, and the width of the movable part 9 is narrowed so as to rotationally move following to rotational deformation between the buildings 1, 2. A guide rail 12 extending in the lengthwise direction is fitted to the center part in the width direction of the back of the movable part 9, and a projecting element 13 engaging with the guide rail 12 is provided on the center part in the width direction of the end part of the passage 4.
