Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce sinking with wheel roads without increase of weight, and reduce a shear deformation rate of shear deformation parts.
SOLUTION: This expansion joint is provided with an elastic band shaped body 1 of which grooves 10, 11 extended at a right angles to a direction of a bridge axis of a bridge H are formed on upper and lower surfaces, and which is used a part between adjoining grooves 10 of an upper surface side and groves 11 of a lower surface side to each other as shear deformation parts 12, and load receiving plate 2 which is buried in a lower layer part of the elastic band shaped body 1 in a condition disposed across an expansion gap U, and of which both end parts in the bridge axis direction run into the shear deformation parts 12. End parts of the elastic band shaped body 1 are arranged so as to fix on the bridge H with anchor bolts AB. Then, a central part of the load receiving plate 2 is upheaved to form in a nearly arcuate shape by means of which an elastic layer in the central part of the load receiving plate 2 is set to a thin wall, and both end parts of the load receiving plate 2 which run into the shear deformation part 12 is formed in the thin wall by means of which the height of the shear deformation parts 12 is greatly set.
