Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion joint for the construction of vibration isolation having large deformation capacity following the movement of a building and high vertical rigidity for smoothly passing a car.
SOLUTION: The expansion joint has a load support member 2 consisting of a lage number of deforming sections 20 and load receiving sections 21 and a surface member 1 placed on the load support member 2 and elastically deformed by comparatively small external force. The surface member 1 is installed in such a manner that one end side is mounted on the vibration- isolation construction side while the other end side is set up on the ground B side and only one end side of the load support member 2 is fitted on the ground B side at that time.
