Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible for an expansion joint to expand and contract against a high tensile load, to be adequately used outdoors, and to have sufficient strength to withstand impact from outside.
SOLUTION: An expansion joint is made up of a screw shaft 5 connected to a motor 2 fixed on the joint part side in a cylindrical housing 1, on one end of which an opening is formed and on the other end of which a joint part 20 is formed, a thrust bearing 3 rotatably supporting the screw shaft 5 in relation to the housing 1, a ball nut 6 allowed to be screwed onto the screw shaft 5 to move in the housing 1 with the rotation of the screw shaft 5, an expansion arm which is formed into a hollow form so as to accommodate the screw shaft 5 and, on one end of which the ball nut 6 is fixed and on the other end of which a joint part 21 projected from the opening part of the housing 1 is formed, and a ball spline 11 fixed in the opening part of the housing 1 to guide the expansion arm.
