PURPOSE: To prevent an expansion seal assembly to which parts of a fluidized bed reactor is coupled from being invaded and from being thermally aged, by keeping hermetic seal of coupling means for coupling two conduits closely with respect to a relative motion of a conduit, and disposing means for controlling a heat flow to the coupling means and to the outside of the conduit.
CONSTITUTION: An expansion seal assembly 10 to an outlet of which a conduit 20 is coupled is restricted in expansion with parallel corrugated 28a, 30a surrounding plates 28, 30, and a composite fabric belt 36 covers an upper portion of the assembly 10. These members are clamped with a bolt along lateral sides with respect to flanges 32, 34. A heat insulation material filling an interval between the plates 28, 30 of the assembly 10 includes a ceramic blanket strip 38 that fills a longitudinal lower portion of an interval between the plates 28, 30. The blanket 38 is partly contained in a bore 26 to prevent ash from being collected in the assembly 10. The assembly 10 is adapted to relative expansion and contraction due to temperature including axial and lateral movements.
