PURPOSE: To provide an expansion valve in which a refrigerant passage sound can be further reduced by providing a refrigerant outlet opening of a high pressure side refrigerant channel to a communicating hole by eccentrically deviating the opening with respect to a refrigerant channel in the hole.
CONSTITUTION: The outer periphery of a valve disc 15 forms the bottom of a refrigerant channel 35 in a communicating hole 14, and an outlet hole 12a of the high pressure side refrigerant channel 12 is opened to the channel 35. The hole 12a of the channel 12 is so formed as to be opened tow a deep part of the channel 35 in the hole 14 and formed by eccentrically deviating to the side with respect to the center of the channel 35. Thus, high pressure refrigerant flowing into the channel in the hole from the high pressure side refrigerant channel does not strike directly the bottom of the channel but smoothly flows into the channel while altering the direction of motion so as to flow like a whirl. As a result, the flow of the refrigerant becomes smooth.
