Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a superpower proportional to the spacing of a pair of electrodes by providing a plasma guide pipe for leading plasma flow from a gas space to a space part between a liner and a pair of electrodes and then allowing the bore of the plasma guide pipe to communicate with an air gap part without any step, and hence making uniform the plasma density within the spacing the pair of electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical plasma guide pipe 24 is provided between a protection plate 13 and an insulation joint 23 and the inner diameter of the plasma guide pipe 24 is made equal to the spacing a of a pair of electrodes 6A and 6B. Therefore, even if the inner diameter of a gas space 2 is smaller than a spacing a, plasma flow spreads also in the radial direction within the pipe while it advances the lower part within the plasma guide pipe 24 and then plasma density becomes uniform inside an air gap part 9 when the plasma flow reaches the air gap part 9, thus enabling the electromotive force obtained between the pair of electrodes 6A and 6B to be proportional to the spacing length d and hence improving generation efficiency.
