To provide an explosion-proof rotary shredding apparatus used in a shredding facility for conducting the shredding treatment of wastes, which prevents corrosion in the shredding apparatus.
The shredding apparatus is comprised of the shredder 2 that conducts the shredding treatment of wastes, a steam supplying device 3 that retains the concentration of oxygen in the shredder 2 outside the explosion limitation of a combustible gas, a hot blast supplying device 4 that suppresses the generation of condensed water by supplying a hot blast B prior to supplying a steam A to warm the shredder 2. Particularly, the hot blast supplying device 4 is provided, thereby supplying the hot blast B into the shredder 2 to warm the shredder 2 followed by supplying the steam A into the shredder 2 by the steam supplying device 3.
