Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent picture quality from being reduced even in a photographic scene having light and shade.SOLUTION: If an unsuitable exposure region in which predetermined exposure cannot be obtained in each of exposure regions is specified as an unsuitable exposure region from an operation par 14 when respectively setting exposure in exposure regions indicting a subject in an image obtained by an imaging element 2, an image feature extraction circuit 16 extracts respective feature values of the unsuitable exposure region and suitable exposure regions other than the unsuitable exposure region under control of a CPU 19, and the CPU 19 calculates an exposure value for the image in accordance with the feature values. Then, a pixel sensitivity calculation circuit 17 sets sensitivity (namely, gain) for the unsuitable exposure region and the suitable exposure regions in an amplifier 4 on the basis of the exposure value to the image under control of the CPU 19.
