Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set an area for exposure control depending on the running state of a vehicle.SOLUTION: The image in front of a vehicle captured by means of a camera is acquired, and the travel speed of the vehicle is also acquired. An exposure area E1, E2 or E3 for exposure control is set in the captured image, and a control value for performing exposure control of a camera is calculated based on the pixel value of a pixel included in the exposure area. More specifically, the size of an exposure area in the captured image is changed depending on the travel speed so that the size of an exposure area in the captured image becomes smaller (E1→E2 or E2→E3) when the travel speed is a first speed, as compared with the case when the travel speed is a second speed lower than the first speed.
