To provide an exposure apparatus capable of rapidly implementing light quantity adjustment without complicating a control circuit.
At the time of performing scanning exposure by separating 32 light beams emitted from an LD array 40 to optical paths up onto four photoreceptor drums 16, a reference voltage Vrf_b for emitting the light beams of the prescribed light quantity from the LD array 40 is created, and an appropriate reference voltage value Vref_r for emitting the light beams of the light quantity required for forming the electrostatic latent image on each photoreceptor drum 16 is derived for each of the photoreceptor drums 16. The driving current of the light beam corresponding to each of the photoreceptor drums 16 is corrected according to the difference between the appropriate reference voltage value Vref_r and the reference voltage Vrf_b.
