PURPOSE: To eliminate the generation of shadows at a masking member, by providing a masking member in the vicinity of a top end part of original and by masking the top end part of the original without shielding illuminating light emitted from a reflecting body.

CONSTITUTION: A white surface part 10a is disposed in the inclined state opposing to the first reflecting body 5 and the first mirror 8 surrounding an exposure lamp 5. A top end part of an original A is masked by the part 10a of a masking member 10, and an original stopper 4 and transporting belt 3 in the vicinity of the top end part of the original are not imaged, and as the light reflected to the side of the original A by the second reflecting body 7 proceeds along both surfaces by a masking member 10, the light reaches the original A without being almost shielded, and therefore shadows of the masking member 10 are not generated as conventional devices.
