Abstract:

To provide an expression vector for biotransformation of a Marchantiales for making a high-expression of a cyclooxygenase involved in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins in the Marchantiales; to provide a biotransformation product of Marchantiales obtained by introducing the vector in the Marchantiales; and to provide a method for producing in vitro of a prostaglandin using extract of the biotransformation product of Marchantiales.

An expression vector for biotransformation of a Marchantiales includes: (A) DNA encoding a protein derived from an organism of Gracilariales having cyclooxygenase activity; and (B) DNA, situated upstream thereof, having 5'-UTR activity in Marchantiales biological cells.
