Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a headrest and a seat belt by providing a backrest which is normally used as a backrest for one person, and used as a backrest of the equal form as that of the normal seat when it is used for plural persons.
SOLUTION: An extension mechanism 10 has a support plate including three plates 11, 21, 31 forming the plane outline of the backrest, and an elastic cushion body E for supporting the back of a sitting person, preferably a polyurethane foam is fastened to the seat. The elastic cushion body E is also formed by three members which are combined to form a backrest for a seat for one person. A head rest 4 is provided on the top of the backrest 1, and the head rest is also divided into three parts 41, 42, 43. Cylindrical members 41a, 42a, 43a are arranged on the respective parts, and respectively connected to the plates 11, 21, 31 by connecting pieces 44, 45, 46. Accordingly, when the respective plates are moved by the drive of a motor, the respective cylindrical members can be also moved together.
